Mie noodles

Mie noodles ( Chinese    /  , Pinyin miàn , Jyutping min 4 , Minan mie) are East Asian wheat noodles that are also available in Europe in a wide variety.

properties

Mie noodles come in many shapes, with a round cross-section or as ribbon noodles, and with different thicknesses, from a little thinner to a little thicker than spaghetti . Because they are usually much longer than spaghetti, they are usually sold in balls that only untangle in hot water.

In addition to wheat flour , water and salt , some of them also contain eggs . Varieties with a high egg content are also known as Chinese egg noodles in German-speaking countries .

The noodles are mostly manufactured industrially and sold in dried form. Like their Japanese equivalent, ramen noodles, they are also available pre-cooked as instant noodles .

use

Mie noodles are mostly used as a soup filler for noodle soups or for fried noodle dishes (such as Bami Goreng ). They are just as suitable for fried noodles as bami or Chinese egg noodles.
