Mie Miki
Mie Miki ( Japanese 御 喜 美 江 , Miki Mie ; born September 15, 1956 in Tokyo ) is an accordionist and professor for accordion at the Folkwang University of the Arts , Essen.
She started playing the accordion at the age of four. At her suggestion, over 50 solo and chamber music works for and with the accordion have been created so far (among others by Y. Takahashi , Toshio Hosokawa , Adriana Hölszky , Hans-Joachim Hespos , Nicolaus A. Huber , H. Hayashi , Toshi Ichiyanagi , M. Ishii , Sven-Ingo Koch , Atsuhiko Gondai and M. Nomura ). As a soloist, Mie Miki has appeared internationally with many important orchestras, such as the Orchester de la Suisse Romande , New Japan Philharmonic , Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra , NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Belgian National Orchestra; u. a. with the conductors Seiji Ozawa , Hiroyuki Iwaki , Hiroshi Wakasugi , Mario Venzago and Charles Dutoit . In 1989 she received the sponsorship award from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
From 1996 onwards, Mie Miki was an honorary professor at the Folkwang University in Duisburg. Since October 2003 she has been professor for accordion at the Folkwang University in Essen. Her CD "Mie Miki Accordion JS Bach " received the 1997 RecordAcademy Award in Japan .
