Mieczysław Baszko

Mieczysław Kazimierz Baszko (born June 26, 1961 in Boratyńszczyzna ) is a Polish politician and educator. He was a board member and vice-chairman of the Polish People's Party (PSL) and was 2014 to 2015 Woiwodschaftsmarschall of Sejmik of Podlaskie . He is currently a member of the Sejm for the eighth legislature .

Life

Baszko studied at the Józef Piłsudski Sports University in Warsaw . From 1985 to 2008 he worked as a teacher. Between 1994 and 2002 he was also a member of the Sokółka City Council and then until 2007 a member of the Sokółka District Council . He joined the PSL in 1996.

In the early local government elections in 2007 , Baszko became a member of the Sejmik of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. After a new coalition agreement, he became a member of the Sejmik board in 2008. In the 2010 self-government elections , he was able to return to Germany, whereupon he was appointed deputy voivodship marshal. He was also re-elected to the Sejmik in the 2014 municipal elections. On December 8, 2014 he was elected as the new Voivodeship Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship . In 2015 Baszko ran in the parliamentary elections as the top candidate of the PSL in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. He received 7010 votes and thus won a mandate for the eighth legislative period of the Sejm. On January 20, 2018, he announced his move to Porozumienie and thus the PiS faction in Parliament.
