Miguel Ángel Herrera Equihua (born April 3, 1989 in Uruapan ) is a Mexican football player . Since 2012 he has played for CF Pachuca in the Mexican first division .

Career

Herrera started his career at CF Pachuca . In 2011 he was loaned to Tampico-Madero FC . After returning to Pachuca, he made his first division debut on matchday three of the Apertura 2012/13 against the Querétaro Fútbol Club . With Pachuca he was runner-up in 2014 and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2015 .

National team

Herrera was in the national team's squad for the first time in November 2013 in the World Cup qualifying playoff against New Zealand . However , he was not nominated for the 2014 World Cup . In November 2014, in a friendly against the Netherlands , he made his international debut. With Mexico he won the Gold Cup in 2015.
