Miguel María de Lojendio e Irure (born September 29, 1908 in Donostia-San Sebastián , † August 2, 1977 in Madrid ) was a Spanish diplomat .
Life
Miguel María de Lojendio e Irures wife was killed in a car accident in Santiago de Chile in 1968 , and her daughter lived in Tangier . Miguel María de Lojendio e Irure studied law and joined the foreign service in 1930. From January 1933 he was employed by the Dirección General de Marruecos y Colonias , then in Santiago de Chile under Ambassador Rodrigo Soriano, where in July 1936 he joined the putschists organized in Chile by Joaquín Pérez de Rada, Marqués de Zabalegui. On August 11, 1936, the government of the Second Republic expelled him from the foreign service by decree. Immediately afterwards they were accredited by the Arturo Alessandri regime as representatives of the Unión Militar Española . He stayed in Chile until July 1939 . In March 1941 he was transferred to the Consulate General in London. He was then employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid. In March 1944 he was transferred to the diplomatic mission in Algiers , where a French Committee for National Liberation was founded on June 3, 1943 . From November 1944 to November 1952 he was promoted from first-class embassy secretary to counselor in Paris . From November 1952 to November 1957 he was employed at the Consulate General in Tangier . In September 1956 he was a delegate to the Conference on Tangier in Fedala . From 1957 to February 25, 1962 he was Consul General in Buenos Aires . From February 25, 1962 to 1964, he was ambassador to Damascus .
From 1964 to 1966 he was ambassador to Cairo (United Arab Republic) and was accredited to the governments of Karthum and Mogadishu . From 1966 to 1970 he was ambassador to Santiago de Chile . From 1970 to 1974 he was ambassador to Vienna . From 1974 to August 10, 1976 he was ambassador to Paris .
