Mihai Romilă (born October 1, 1950 in Huși ; † June 27, 2020 ) was a Romanian football player . He denied 324 games in the highest Romanian league, the Divizia A .
Career
From the youth of CSMS Iasi emerged changed Romila in 1968 to local rivals Nicolina Iasi in the Divizia C . He was struggling at first team regular with his team to promotion to the Divizia B . In the winter break 1969/70 he just moved there to Gloria Bârlad , but had to relegate with his new club at the end of the season. He then joined the league competitor ASA Sibiu .
In the summer of 1971 returned to his hometown club Romila back, which now than Politehnica Iasi changed its name and in the Divizia A played. He made his debut in the House of Lords on August 29, 1971 in the away game against Farul Constanța . At the end of the season he finished with his team only the penultimate place in the table and had to relegate. A year later - Romilă had established himself in the meantime as a regular force in midfield - he managed to return to the top division. In the following years he fought with the club to stay in class. Although he was now promoted to national team, he stayed with the club for twelve years and did not move to any of the Romanian top clubs. The best placings during this time are two eighth places in the 1976/77 and 1979/80 seasons . The greatest success in the Romanian Cup dates from the 1977/78 season , when Romilă and his team were able to eliminate Steaua Bucharest and move into the semi-finals. There he was eliminated from the eventual winner Universitatea Craiova . At the end of the 1980/81 season there was again a descent from Divizia A, which was again followed by direct re-promotion.
In the summer of 1983 Romilă left Iasi and moved to league rivals Dunărea CSU Galați . At the end of the year he ended his active career.
National team
Romilă played a total of 19 games for the Romanian national team between 1975 and 1979 , scoring one goal. He made his debut on December 17, 1975 in the final qualifier for the 1976 European Championship against Scotland . After the following game against France on March 24, 1976, his time in the national team was temporarily over, as national coach Ștefan Kovács initially did not bet on him.
A year later Romilă returned in the friendly game against the GDR on April 27, 1977 in the circle of the Tricolorii . He came regularly to the train, but missed the qualification for the 1978 World Cup . On June 1, 1979, he played his last international match against the GDR.
