Mihkel Aksalu (born November 7, 1984 in Kuressaare ) is an Estonian football player in the service of Seinäjoen JK in Ykkönen, Finland .

Career

Aksalu's career began at FC Kuressaare , where he was a substitute goalkeeper. From there he went to the lower class club Sörve JK and HÜJK Emmaste, before the FC Flora Tallinn signed him, but immediately transferred to Tervis Pärnu to get match practice there. There he also managed the feat of scoring a goal in the game as a goalkeeper. After two years he went back to FC Flora Tallinn, where he played for five years. In January 2010, Aksalu moved to Sheffield United . Shortly thereafter, Sheffield loaned him to Mansfield Town on loan to the Conference National for two months . Gary Speed , coach of the "Blades" had advised him to gain match practice at another club. In the 2012 season he was in the squad of the Estonian first division club FC Flora Tallinn after he had terminated his contract with Sheffield United. In April 2013 the goalkeeper signed a contract with the Finnish second division club Seinäjoen JK, where two other Estonians are already under contract with Gert Kams and Stanislav Goldberg .

Internationally, he came to 10 missions in the national team of Estonia .
