Mikael Bedros III. Kasbarian
Mikael Bedros III. Kasbarian OAM , also Michael Petrus III. Kasbarian , ( Armenian : Միքայէլ Պետրոս Գ. Գասպարեան; *?; † November 10, 1780 in Bzommar , Jordan ) was the third Armenian Catholic Patriarch of Cilicia . He is the founder of the Armenian Catholic Church in Bzommar.
Life
Mikael Kasbarian was initially a monk of the Armenian Antonians and came from Aleppo in Syria . He was ordained Bishop of the Armenian Catholic Church in 1753 and elected Patriarch of Cilicia. His election was confirmed on June 23, 1753. During his tenure, a church building for the Armenian Catholic Church was inaugurated in Bzommar in 1771.
Act
With the expansion of the Armenian Catholic Church, Kasbarian recognized the need for missionary work and founded a training center for missionaries . His attempt to settle the Antonian religious order in Bzommar failed because of their desire for independence.
