Mike Baron

Mike Baron (* 1949 ) is an American comic book author and illustrator. Baron was best known as the co-creator of the science fiction series Nexus .

Life and work

Baron began working as a full-time comic book writer in 1981 after earning a degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin . In the same year, Baron created the series Nexus together with the illustrator Steve Rude , on which he is still working today and which brought the two artists numerous honors, including the renowned Eisner Award .

Other series that Baron, who lives in Denver , Colorado, has worked on are the independent series The Badger (since 1983), Ginger Fox , Spyke and Feud , and the mainstream series The Flash (1987), Deadman (1989– 1992) and Batman for DC, The Punisher (1987–1995) for Marvel and various Star Wars comics for Dark Horse . From 2003 to 2004 he also lectured on self-publishing comics at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design .

Baron quotes Carl Barks and Philip José Farmer as his artistic influences .
