Mike (Miguel) Beedle (born October 11, 1962 - March 23, 2018 in Chicago ) was an American theoretical physicist and software developer .

Life

After Scrum was presented at the OOPSLA 1995 by Jeff Sutherland and Ken Schwaber , Mike Beedle was one of the first Scrum users. In 2001 he was co-author of the Agile Manifesto , where he suggested the name "Agile" for lightweight software development. In 2002 he published the first book on Scrum together with Ken Schwaber.

He later coined the term "Enterprise Scrum", developed his ideas for a canvases-based approach, and promoted Enterprise Scrum as a framework for scaling the practices and benefits of Scrum across organizations.

Beedle was fatally injured in a knife attack in Chicago on March 23, 2018.
