Ken Schwaber (born September 17, 1945 in Wheaton, IL ) is an American software developer .

Life

Schwaber studied mechanical engineering at the United States Merchant Marine Academy , computer science at the University of Chicago and business administration at the University of California . Together with Jeff Sutherland , he developed the agile project management framework Scrum from 1993 , and the first conference contribution on Scrum was presented at OOPSLA 1995. Since then he has had his own software company in which he uses Scrum and works as a consultant for other companies. Schwaber is one of 17 signatories to the Agile Manifesto (2001) and co-founder of the Agile Alliance (2001) in Knox County and the ScrumAlliance (2001) in Westminster . In 2009 he left the ScrumAlliance and founded Scrum.org in Burlington . Since 2009 he has been editing the Scrum Guide with Jeff Sutherland.

Schwaber lives in Lexington , Massachusetts , United States .
