Michael Wordsworth "Mike" Elliott (born April 3, 1942 in Durango , Colorado ) is a retired American cross-country skier .

Elliott started cross-country skiing at the age of six. He later went to Fort Lewis College and won two NCAA championship titles . In 1964 he took part in the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , Austria for the first time . Over 15 and 30 kilometers he finished 41st and 30th. Together with Mike Gallagher , Jim Shea and John Bower he reached 13th place in the 4x10 km relay. In 1968 he took part for the second time in Grenoble , France . In the individual races, he finished 41 (15 km), 29 (30 km) and 30 (50 km). In the season with Mike Gallagher, John Bower and Bob Gray , he achieved 12th place. In 1972 Elliott competed in Sapporo, Japan, over 30 km and reached place 26. Over 4x10 km he achieved 12th place again together with Mike Gallagher, Tim Caldwell and Larry Martin . He was also ten times US master in the field of Masters .

Elliott's career was interrupted twice by broken legs while skiing and serving in the US Army in Vietnam . After retiring from the army, he graduated from Colorado State University . He was later a member of the United States Olympic Committee and has worked at a ski resort in his hometown of Durango since 1973.
