Mike Larrison

Mike Larrison (born November 7, 1981 in Avon , Indiana ) is an American racing driver .

Career

Larrison began his motorsport career at the age of four. He first drove motocross . Larrison won several American Motocross Association championship titles . Then he drove in karting . There, too, he achieved several championship titles. Since 2010 he has appeared in several USAC series. In 2010 and 2011 he was also active in the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series , where he achieved eleventh place overall in 2011.

In 2011 Larrison was planning his formula racing debut in the Indy Lights . He had signed a contract with Andretti Autosport for the season finale. However, he injured his back and foot during test drives at the Kentucky Speedway . A fracture of the left calcaneus had to be treated in an operation . His formula racing debut was then postponed to 2012 . At Belardi Auto Racing , Larrison received a cockpit for the four oval races of the Indy Lights. With two ninth places as the best results, he was 14th in the drivers' standings. Larrison was the best American pilot in the 2013 Indy Lights season.
