Mikion painter
The Mikion Painter was an Attic red-figure vase painter, active in the late 5th century BC. In Athens .
The fragments of two Lekanids are attributed to him, both of which are signed by the potter Mikion :
- Fragment of a Lekanis from the Pnyx : Athens, Agora Pnyx 124 (P 349)
- Fragments of a lekanis from the Athens Acropolis : Athens, National Museum Akr. 594
On both pieces there is another inscription of the name of a Euemporos who may have signed here as a painter, which would then be the real name of the artist, otherwise known only under the emergency name "Mikion painter".
