Milagros Beras Dalmasí

Milagros Beras Dalmasí (born August 10, 1945 , † July 23, 1996 in Santo Domingo ) was a Dominican pianist and music teacher.

Beras had first piano lessons with Florencia Pierret and then attended the piano class of Teresa Beras de Sánchez at the Escuela Elemental de Música . He continued his piano training at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música with Floralba del Monte and perfected it in Paris with Jean Marié . Finally, he completed his chamber music training with Guido Mozzato and Carlo Bruno at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

After his return he taught at the Academia Dominicana de Música and also worked as a concert pianist. With the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional he led a. a. Works by Bach , Mozart , Beethoven , Schumann , Mendelssohn and Shostakovich .

In Puerto Rico he presented works by Dominican composers and, at the invitation of President Alfredo Cristiani Burkard, appeared at a Concierto por la Paz in a trio with the cellist François Bauhaud and the flutist Luis Armando Ruíz . At his last concert in January 1996 he performed Mozart's 9th Piano Concerto with the Ensemble Ars Nova under the direction of Bauhaud. The video Disfrutemos la música was published posthumously in 1998 , on which Beras explained topics of music education.
