Milan Klappek (born June 24, 1944 in Velké Tresné ) is a Czech pastor of the Bohemian Brethren Church and university teacher .

Life

Milan Klapetek was born in the small Moravian village of Velké Tresné. After attending elementary school and obtaining university entrance qualification, he studied Protestant theology . With the passing of an ecclesiastical examinations he was on 11 November 1973 pastor of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren ordained .

Klappek graduated from the Brno Technical University with a master's degree in theology . This was followed by a teaching position at the Masaryk University of Brno . Here he became the head of the Lifelong Learning Department . As a professor's assistant, he won the 2000 award.

Klappek was a member of the communist front organization Christian Peace Conference .

Milan Klappek also emerged as the author of a theological story when an extraordinary monument was erected in the town of Hustopece , which deals with the importance of the lay chalice in the faith of the Bohemian Brethren Church: the " Wine Yeast Monument ". His introductory words at the inauguration were an homage to the peace force of the Brethren Church:

“We are facing a unique sculpture that cannot be compared with any other statue in the world. Marketplaces all over the world are teeming with depictions of determined men wielding a sword or holding a book in their hand, for example. We at Hustopece have erected a statue for something that is completely overlooked, but which has played a greater role in the life of mankind than all of these usual marketplace decorations put together. We stand in front of a plastic of the wine yeast. "
