Milan Vukelić (born January 2, 1936 in Novi Sad , † September 4, 2012 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav national football player .

Career

Vukelić began his active career in 1955 with FK Vojvodina Novi Sad and played 25 games for the club until 1957 in which he scored ten goals. After moving to JSD Partizan Belgrade , he played 434 games for the club in eleven years, including 153 league games. He scored 136 goals, 30 of them in the first division. 1961 to 1963 and 1965 he won the Yugoslav championship four times with the team. In the European Cup of National Champions 1965/66 Vukelić made it with the team to the final. In this final on May 11, 1966 in the Heysel Stadium in Brussels , he was not used and the team lost 2-1 to Real Madrid .

1956 Vukelić came in the B national team of Yugoslavia once for use. On September 15, 1957, he made his debut in the senior national team in Belgrade in the game against Austria , which ended 3: 3. His third and last game for the national team he played on October 25, 1964 against Hungary in Budapest .

After the end of his active career, he took over a coaching position at Partizan and worked for a time as a sports teacher at the Belgrade Military School. After nine years he took over the training of the youngsters at Partizan and looked after the teams well into old age.
