Milk Slices

The Milch-Schnitte (partly Kinder Milch-Schnitte ; Italian Kinder Fetta al Latte ) is a confectionery from the Italian manufacturer Ferrero , whose word and image trademark is protected in Germany. It consists of two extruded brown sheets of dough that sandwich a milk preparation. The product was launched on the German market in 1978 as Kinder Milch-Schnitte ; For some time now, the term “children” has been dispensed with in German-speaking markets. In Italy and Belgium, on the other hand, the product is still being marketed as a children's milk bar.

Since 2016, yoghurt slices with a filling made of yoghurt and lemon flavor have been available on German markets. Since 2017 they have also been available with a raspberry flavor. Since 2018 it has also been offered in the blueberry & cranberry flavor.

Components

A section weighs 28 grams and is about nine centimeters long. It is made from 40% whole milk, palm oil, sugar, 10.5% wheat flour, 9% skimmed milk powder, 5% honey, concentrated butter, whole egg powder, wheat bran, low-fat cocoa, emulsifiers (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids), the raising agents sodium hydrogen carbonate, disodium diphosphate Ammonium carbonate as well as salt, natural flavors and vanillin and may contain soy.

advertising

In the 1980s, the product was advertised on TV as a "healthy alternative" to the lunch break , which children would like in contrast to bread. While the advertising was initially focused on children as the target group, over the course of the decade and into the 1990s, adults were also specifically presented as a target group and milk slices were presented as light snacks, for example in the office and during leisure time activities with colleagues. The confectionery was later advertised as a snack suitable for athletes. Tennis player Anke Huber appeared in the commercials from 1996 to 2000 and boxers Vitali Klitschko and Wladimir Klitschko as well as Susianna Kentikian in the 2000s and mountaineers Alexander Huber and Thomas Huber in the 2010s . In the 2010s, the commercials were also given a partially less informative and instead partially humor-oriented character, in which common everyday activities between children and parents were presented.
