The Miles Creek is a river in Mecklenburg County in the southern US state of Virginia . It rises in a small wooded area about 350 yards southeast of the junction of Virginia State Route 47 and Union Level Road . From here it flows a short distance in a southeasterly direction before turning south at State Route 657 . Two kilometers west of US Highway 1 , Miles Creek flows into Lake Gordon and from its outflow about nine kilometers south. It flows into the Roanoke River about 80 meters east of the US 1 highway bridge .
