The Millstätter See ridge is a ridge in the southwest of the Nockberge , which separates the Millstätter See from the lower Drautal to the south .

The ridge is around 13 km long and 2 km wide. The highest elevations are the Geißriegel ( 988  m above sea level ) , the Hochgosch ( 876  m above sea level ) and the Wolfsberg ( 804  m above sea level ) . Geologically it belongs to the Millstatt Complex of the Central Eastern Alpine Crystalline , which mainly consists of monotonous two-mica schists and gneisses. World iconWorld iconWorld icon

The Wolfsberg Tunnel of the Tauern Autobahn runs under the Wolfsberg . The Romanesque Wolfgang Church is located west of the Wolfsberg in the Seeboden district of St. Wolfgang . About in the middle of the back, almost on the ridge, is the Egelsee . To the west of the lake are the remains of the medieval Hochgosch refuge . The 20 km² nature reserve Millstätter See-Süd takes up a large part of the ridge .
