Trivia

The Mirnockriese , a legendary figure carved in stone, is the landmark of the municipality of Feld am See . According to legend, the giant kidnapped a beautiful fisherman's daughter from the valley. Their father outwitted the kidnapper by making him drunk and freed his daughter. Angry about this loss, the giant shook the summit of the Mirnock until it broke and fell into the valley. The scree avalanche divided the large lake there into two smaller ones, namely the Afritzer See and the Brennsee . That is why the Mirnock, which is actually quite high, no longer has a pronounced peak, but only a wide crest.
