Miloš Lokajíček

Miloš Václav Lokajíček (born August 20, 1923 in Altpilsen ; † November 7, 2019 ) was a Czech physicist .

Life

After graduating in physics from Charles University in Prague in 1948, Miloš Lokajíček became a research assistant to Václav Votruba , the founder of Czechoslovak particle physics . 1953, both published an authoritative work on the use of isotopic spin - spin , building on Heisenberg's findings on quantum mechanics . Scientific cooperation was stopped when the Communist Party came to power; Miloš Lokajíček was sentenced to seven years in prison for refusing to recognize the lawfulness of the execution of the resistance fighter and women's rights activist Milada Horáková on June 27, 1950. After his release after three and a half years, he was banned from the profession for 15 years. He was only able to officially resume his academic work at the Academy in the Prague Spring .

He held the professorship for elementary particle physics at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (AV ČR) and was the head of the Department of Computer and Electronics Sciences . His scientific fields of activity were radiobiology , hadron therapy, axiomatics of quantum physics and natural philosophy .

From 1997 he was also a full professor for theoretical physics in the department of philosophy and philosophy of natural sciences at the Gustav-Siewerth-Akademie in Weilheim-Bierbronnen .

In 1999 he received an award from the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences (CTNS) for his lecture “Physics and Religion” .
