Miloš Orson Štědroň

Miloš Orson Štědroň (born November 5, 1973 in Brno ) is a Czech composer.

The son of the composer and musicologist Miloš Štědroň studied piano with Václav Šeffl and composition with Jiří Bárta at the Brno Conservatory from 1988 to 1994 . From 1994 to 1998 he continued his composition studies at the Janáček Music Academy with Arnošt Parsch ; at the same time he studied musicology at the Philosophical Faculty of Masaryk University . a. with Jiří Fukač and Rudolf Pečman . In 2001 he received his master's degree with a thesis on Leoš Janáček . This was followed by a doctoral degree at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Václav Riedlbauch and Ivan Kurz , which he completed in 2009 with a Ph. D.

From 1999 to 2003, Štědroň was a répétiteur at the music-dramatic department of the Prague Conservatory, since then he has been teaching harmony and formalism as well as music history and giving courses in contemporary music at this conservatory. He composed orchestral and chamber music, operas, film and drama music. He also appears as a silent film pianist and has made recordings (with Iva Bittová, among others ). In 2008 he published an instrumentation textbook.
