Milton Ottey
Milton Bruce "Milt" Ottey (born December 29, 1959 in May Pen ) is a former Canadian high jumper of Jamaican origin.
In 1979 he won bronze at the Pan American Games in San Juan and in 1982 gold at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane .
At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 he was ninth and sixth at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In 1986 he managed to defend his title at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh , and in 1987 he was seventh at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Indianapolis .
At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, he was eliminated in qualification. In 1990 he completed his international career with a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland .
Eight times he was Canadian champion (1979, 1981-1984, 1986-1988). In 1982 he became US champion and , starting at the University of Texas at El Paso , NCAA champion, 1985 English champion.
