MindManager is a commercial application software for creating mind maps .
Product history
The development of the MindManager software began in 1994 in an oncology ward by Mike Jetter. Mike Jetter was being treated for leukemia at the time and wanted to leave something behind. At this point he had already been working on the mind mapping method for a long time. So it made sense to develop software to collect, organize and present ideas and information. The first three versions of the software ran under the name MindMan, before the name was changed to today's MindManager with Release 3.5. MindManager is manufactured by Corel in Ottawa , Canada. The European headquarters are located in Alzenau. In August 2016 Mindjet was sold to Corel Corporation by the previous owner, Spigit .
Products and Services
MindManager is software based on mind mapping, with which information, tasks and relationships can be visually displayed and processed. In mind maps, information, images or hyperlinks are arranged hierarchically around a central topic. They enable a better understanding and a quick overview.
MindManager is available for both Windows and MAC. MindManager 2020 released the two apps MindManager Go and MindManager Snap for mobile editing. There is also a dedicated online service for co-editing. Maps that have been saved on one of the following online services can be edited together: SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box and Google Drive.
In addition to the single-user license, there is also the Enterprise version, which offers additional features. This includes an interface to SharePoint, a MindManager SharePoint app, Gantt-Pro with extended project management functions, a free reader for all computers in the company, tools for an automated rollout and direct support.
