Mindy Jostyn

Mindy Jostyn (born June 5, 1956 in Long Island City , † March 10, 2005 in Hudson , New York ) was an American singer and multi-instrumentalist .

Mindy Jostyn grew up in San Jose and Wellesley and founded her first band, "The Tigers", at the age of 11. Her musical focus was on folk rock / pop. She played the violin, guitar and harmonica, among other things. Before her solo career, Jostyn was a sought-after accompanist for internationally known artists such as Joe Jackson , Billy Joel , Cyndi Lauper , Jon Bon Jovi and Shania Twain . 1992-93 she was a permanent member of The Hooters .

Jostyn was married to Jacob Brackman , an American journalist, author and songwriter. In 2005 Mindy Jostyn died of complications from cancer at the age of 48.
