Charity
Jon Bon Jovi has worked on behalf of many organizations and institutions. He has worked with the Special Olympics , the American Red Cross , the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation , the Habitat for Humanity , the Covenant House , the Project HOME and the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation , among others .
He was named the first founding ambassador of the Habitat for Humanity Ambassador program, which was part of the advocacy and public relations work of the non-profit organization . The singer has established himself within this non-profit organization since 2005; initially by providing funds that were used to build six houses in Philadelphia . The construction was completed in collaboration with the house owners and numerous members of the Philadelphia Soul Football team . The construction site also served as the location for the music video for Who Says You Can't Go Home . In 2006 he donated $ 1 million to the organization to help fund the construction of 28 homes on the hurricane-hit Louisiana coast. In 2007 he announced a project to redevelop 15 houses in North Philadelphia. During a performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005, the band made a $ 1 million donation to the Angel Network Foundation.
With the establishment of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation in 2006, the singer mainly expressed the intention to fight causes that force families into the financial abyss. By arranging various programs and partnerships in a variety of ways, the facility supports poor families and individuals, most of whom have fallen victim to homelessness. On October 19, 2011, Jon Bon Jovi finally opened the JBJ Soul Kitchen , which gives guests the freedom to choose whether and how much they want to pay for their dishes.
