One Wild Night: Live 1985–2001 (English for: 'Eine wilde Nacht: Live 1985–2001') is the first live album by the American rock band Bon Jovi .
Musical content
This album offers an insight into the band's live performance, as well as an overview of their various creative periods, as it is different recordings from the entire band's years. Of course, it also includes the band's big hits. It also includes two songs that are not by the band itself: Rockin 'in the Free World by Neil Young and I Don't Like Mondays by and with Bob Geldof .
The song One Wild Night 2001 is a remix of the crush version. The song gains speed in the new version, the title line is partly accompanied by a talk box and the song begins with a different intro.
The track I Don't Like Mondays was already released on the These Days bonus disc.

reception
In conclusion, the reviews deliver a really positive picture, even if, for example, the shortness of the album or the fading in and out were criticized. But many fans were happy that the band's official live album is finally available. Thomas Kupfer rated the album in Rock Hard magazine as follows: “17 years after the publication of the simply self-titled debut, Bon Jovi's first live album, One Wild Night, appears . At various appearances they recorded 14 songs and rounded off the disc with the 2001 version of One Wild Night (which is superfluous for me) . Otherwise, the selection of songs is perfect, almost every hit of the band's career, which is rich in highlights, has found its way onto the album and with Runaway and In and Out of Love (from the criminally underrated 7800 ° Fahrenheit album), two ancient camels are among the greatest hits Collection slipped. Although I miss the atmosphere and tension that continuously builds up during a continuously recorded live performance, at least you can enjoy the original recording of the Boomtown Rats cover I Don't Like Mondays , which the band made on the occasion of the 10th anniversary Live Aid anniversary together with Sir Bob Geldof. Richie Sambora then logically speaks of 'a piece of contemporary history' that is presented here. All in all a sure thing; Bon Jovi fans know what to expect. "
The album went gold in Canada and Germany. The album sold over 2 million times worldwide.
