Hugh "Huey" McDonald (born December 28, 1950 in Philadelphia ) is an American bassist and member of the rock band Bon Jovi . He plays both live and in the studio with artists such as Cher , Ricky Martin , Alice Cooper and Ringo Starr .

He is mainly active at Bon Jovi . He has only been an official member here since 2016. Before that, he wasn't featured on album covers or promotional photos, but played in many of the band's music videos. According to his own statement, however , he has been a bassist from the very beginning, and not just since Alec John Such left the band in 1994.
