David Bryan , actually David Bryan Rashbaum , (born February 7, 1962 in Perth Amboy , New Jersey ) is an American musician . He is the keyboard player and backing singer for the band Bon Jovi .

Life

David Bryan and Jon Bon Jovi met during their school days and played in the band Atlantic City Expressway during that time . After school he studied at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York City . In addition to his work at Bon Jovi, he has been writing successful musicals since 2000 , including the play Memphis , which was performed on Broadway . David Bryan was married to his childhood sweetheart April McLean, divorced from them since 2004 and has three children.

In the summer of 2010, Bryan skipped a gig of the band for the first time since the founding of Bon Jovi, as his musical "Memphis" won several musical awards that evening - including for the best music. That evening the keyboards were taken over by JBJ solo keyboarder Jeff Kazee.

His greatest influences are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Ludwig van Beethoven , Johann Sebastian Bach , Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes , Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin .
