Council of Ministers of Brunei

The Council of Ministers of Brunei ( English Council of Ministers , Malay Majlis Mesyuarat Menteri-Menteri Kabinet ) forms the cabinet of Brunei . As a rule, the ministers are appointed for a period of five years.

As an absolute monarchy , the Council of Ministers only has an advisory function. All decisions, laws and edicts are made by the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam , currently Hassanal Bolkiah . It is not bound by decisions of the Council of Ministers.

All members of the Council of Ministers and the Crown Prince are also members of the Legislative Council of Brunei .
