Chiaki Minoru

Chiaki Minoru ( Japanese 千秋 実 ; * July 30, 1917 , † November 1, 1999 ) was a Japanese actor. Especially his collaboration with Akira Kurosawa , for whom he played the friendly Heihachi in The Seven Samurai, among others , made him famous. Later he also worked in some productions of the Tōei film.

Trivia

In the movie The Seven Samurai , his role is that of the first of the samurai group to die. In life he was the last of the seven actors to die.

Awards

1986 Minoru Chiaki was for his role in the film Hanaichimonme (Gray Sunset 1985) as best actor with the Japan Academy Prize awarded.
