Minskoff Theater
The Minskoff Theater is a theater in Manhattan , New York City .
It's on the third floor of One Astor Plaza at 1515 Broadway . The theater was designed by the architects Kahn and Jacobs and opened in 1973. The theater has 1,621 seats for visitors. The theater is owned by the Nederlander Organization . The theater is named after Sam Minskoff and Sons, the owners of the skyscraper. In 1981 the Miss Universe took place in the theater , won by Irene Saez from Venezuela. A great success of the theater was the 1994 production Sunset Boulevard . The Tony Awards were presented in 1986, 1988, 1991 and 1995 in the theater.
