Minuscule 83 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), ε 1218 ( from Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on 321 sheets of parchment (21.4 × 16.6 cm). Using paleography , the manuscript was dated to the 11th century. The handwriting is complete.
description
The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels . It was written in one column with 20–21 lines each. It contains prolegomena, lists of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, (not τιτλοι), lectionary markings, αναγνωσεις, menologion, signatures and στιχοι .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type . Kurt Aland placed it in Category V a. He belonged to the text family K r .
The text John 7: 53-8 , 11 is marked with an obelus .
history
The manuscript used to be in Augsburg (like Codex 84 and 85 ). It was examined by Johann Albrecht Bengel , Johann Martin Augustin Scholz , John William Burgon and Caspar René Gregory .
The code is in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Gr. 518) in Munich .
