The Mirae Street (미래 과학자 거리) ( Mirae for the future ) is a street or residential area in North Korea's capital Pyongyang . It is considered a living quarters for scientists and is mainly intended as a place of residence for deserving employees of the Kim Ch'aek State Technical University and was built over a period of a good 1½ years between May 2014 and October 2015 by order of Kim Jong-us , who thus “modern houses for patriotic Scientists and Educators ”wanted to create. He also gave the street its name "Mirae" for future . On October 21st, Kim Jong-un conducted one of his "on-site instructions" here . From November 3, 2015, the area was handed over to its intended use. Senior politicians from the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK) attended the ceremony ; Pak Pong-ju , Choe Thae-bok , Pak Yong Sik , O Su Yong , Ro Tu-chol and other officials. Around 3,000 people lived here in mid-December 2015. The Automation Institute of Kim Ch'aek University of Technology was established here at the same time.

There are also various facilities here, such as kindergartens , department stores and a tennis court . The road has six lanes and is served by a line of the Pyongyang trolleybus . It is located in the district of P'yŏngch'ŏn-guyŏk ( Haeun-dong ) near the Pyongyang Central Station below the Yanggak Bridge and runs parallel to Taedong-gang .

In the urban area of ​​Pyongyang there is also Unha Scientiest Street with a similar meaning.
