Miram is the proper name of the star η (eta) Persei in the constellation Perseus .

Miram belongs to the spectral class K3 and has an apparent brightness of +3.79 m . It is 770 light years from the Sun according to Gaia DR2 . In the Hipparcos catalog , the distance was determined much further with about 880 or even 1330 light years.
