Miranda NG ( Next Generation ) is a spin-off from the instant messenger Miranda IM . Disagreements between the main developers were cited as the reason for the split. One of the main changes compared to Miranda IM is the central administration of all available plugins, which should simplify the interaction between plugin and core developers.

Miranda NG supports plugins that can be used to extend the client. Due to the large number of changes, plugins for Miranda IM cannot run under Miranda NG, but most plugins have now been ported for Miranda NG.
