Mircea Albulescu , actually Iorgu Constantin V. Albulescu (born October 4, 1934 in Bucharest ; † April 8, 2016 there ), was a Romanian actor.

Life

Mircea Albulescu initially worked as an extra at the Bucharest National Theater and completed an external degree at the Theater and Film School ( Institutul de Artă Teatrală și Cinematografică “IL Caragiale” ) in Bucharest. In 1951 he graduated from the Faculty of Drama and Directing with an exam. In 1956 Albulescu went to the Comedy Theater in Bucharest, where he played until 1966. Albulescu had been a member of the Teatrul Național Bucureşti ensemble since the mid-1970s . From 1990 to 1998 Albulescu taught as a professor at the Universitatea de Artă Teatrală şi Cinematografică. Mihai Marinescu was one of his students .

Albulescu took his first film role in 1957 in If you love me (Pasărea furtunii) . From 1970 he got bigger roles and has since acted in around 75 films. In addition to adventure films and westerns , Albulescu has also appeared in dramas and contemporary films.

In addition to his acting activities, Albulescu also found recognition as a publicist, poet and art connoisseur; he belonged to the Union of Writers ( Uniunea Scriitorilor din România ) .
