Johnny shoots across (original title Artista, dollarii şi ardelenii ) is the second of three Romanian films with the adventures of Transylvanian immigrants in the USA . It was first shown in GDR cinemas on June 25, 1981 .

action

A carriage is attacked by soldiers disguised as Indians led by Ambrose Green. The mastermind behind this is the opaque Wheeler. Meanwhile, the brothers Traian, Johnny and Romulus Brad are wandering the west with the pretty June and the former slave Bob. In a small town in which they quarter, they meet actors and actresses with the star Annabelle Lee. Their show is interrupted by the news of an alleged Indian attack. Wheeler, posing as Colonel Wilkinson, organizes a squad of men. Then the scout Barney, who comes into town with two Indians to tell the truth, is attacked and killed. The Brad brothers help the fleeing Indian Fast Arrow to escape.

Traian is madly in love with Annabelle, who does not speak his language (and is Wheeler's secret lover). Against the advice of his brothers, he invests much of the money he makes as a gold digger in gifts. Johnny, in turn, is provoked to a duel with Green, while Romulus is working in the local forge. When a transport arrives with wages, the town is occupied by soldiers Wheeler, who claims to have to protect the place from Indian attacks. Johnny is one of the group of men securing the transport. He notices that Wheeler is using his brother Traian as a means to steal money. In a major pistol and rifle fight, the Brad brothers can help pacify the place and get the bad guys out of the way. Then they move on with June, Bob and Swift Arrow.
