action

In the gold rush town of Cedar City, Utah, the polygamous Mormon prophet Walthorpe rules with the help of his son, the marshal, and his helpers. There John Brad is forced to flee because he is accused of having shot a pistolero in the back. Three strangers reach the city on a train: the bounty hunter Jeff Groghan, hired by Walthorpe, and the two Transylvanian immigrants Traian and Romulus Brad, who want to visit their brother. Traian only speaks Romanian; After all, Romulus has a dictionary with him.

Upon arrival, Groghan is involved in an exchange of fire, in which Traian is able to fire his Turkish rifle. In a subsequent poker game, Traian wins against Groghan, a Confederate officer, and a third man not only full stakes, but also the officer's slave, Bob. When the Prophet arrives, the Brads try to make their concern understandable - they saw their brother on the "Wanted" posters. However, they are arrested and sentenced to death by Judge Jo Doolittle, a drinker. Walthorpe lets her work for him on his farm.

After they managed to escape, they meet their brother and now live in a hut with Bob, fishing and mining for gold. John tries to get the gold diggers to revolt against the prophet who determines the gold price and takes advantage of it; however, he is unsuccessful. Some time later, John is able to save a man and his daughter in a robbery carried out by Walthorpe's men; he brings the girl into the hut. The brothers manage to take possession of the Mormon-organized transport to bring the gold that has been stolen from the workers to Salt Lake City.

The Mormons are now attacking the miners' quarters; with the help of the Brad brothers, they can be defeated. Walthorpe is captured and the brothers ride into the sunset with Bob and the girl.

criticism

“Long-winded, only partially exciting adventure film; sympathetic, if at all, because of a certain originality, ”said the lexicon of international films with little enthusiasm.
