Miriam Sharoni

Miriam Sharoni (born November 6, 1968 in Malmö ) is a Swedish - Israeli opera singer with a soprano voice .

Live and act

Miriam Sharoni was born in Sweden and grew up in Israel . After graduating from high school, she studied singing at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf and at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater with Judith Beckmann . She graduated with honors in song and opera. In addition, she attended master classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf , Agnes Giebel , Christa Ludwig , Mitsuko Shirai and Hartmut Höll . A scholarship from the Israel Vocal Arts Institute enabled her to study at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City .

She made her operatic debut in 1996 with the role of Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème in Haifa (Israel). In the same year she sang Hugo Wolf's Italian songbook in the Laeisz-Halle in Hamburg . Her first guest engagement took her to the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin in 1996. Further engagements followed in Bremerhaven, Saarbrücken and Flensburg. At the Eutin Summer Games in 2001, 2002 and 2004 she sang Pamina from Mozart's Magic Flute .

From 1997 to 2001 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Braunschweig State Theater . She made her debut at the Vienna Volksoper in 2001 with the role of Maria in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story and appeared there as Princess Layla in Die Blume von Hawaii and as Sylva Varescu in Csardasfürstin . In the Hamburg Chamber Opera she performed a. a. in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Mozart's Così fan tutte , Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni .

Recitals and concerts as well as recordings for radio and television led the singer a. a. to the USA, Switzerland, Austria and Israel. As a soloist, she participated in oratorios. She is living in Germany.
