Miroslav Polák is a former Czechoslovak ski jumper .

Career

Polák contested his first international jumping competition at the Junior World Championships in Trondheim in 1984 . He achieved the bronze medal on the normal hill (K80).

On December 30, 1984, Polák jumped for the first time in the ski jumping World Cup . In the course of the Four Hills Tournament in 1984/85 he was able to steadily increase his performance and was able to win World Cup points for the first time with 13th place in Bischofshofen . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 1985 in Seefeld in Tyrol , Polak jumped 17th on the normal hill and 16th on the large hill. In team jumping he reached 4th place together with Jiří Parma , Pavel Ploc and Martin Švagerko . In the World Cup competitions after the World Championships in St. Moritz and Štrbské Pleso , he each achieved a place in the top ten. At the end of the 1984/85 season he finished 26th in the overall World Cup ranking. After an unsuccessful Four Hills Tournament in 1985/86 , he retired from the World Cup for 4 years. In 1989 and 1990 he again competed in three World Cup competitions, but remained without great success and ended his active ski jumping career after the 1989/90 World Cup season .
