Miroslaw Christoforow Najdenow (also written Miroslav Hristoforov Naydenov , Bulgarian Мирослав Христофоров Найденов ; born December 14, 1968 in Wraza ) is a Bulgarian politician of the GERB party and former Minister of Agriculture of the country.

Life

Miroslaw Najdenow was born on December 14, 1968 in the town of Wraza in the Balkan Mountains . After graduating from high school, he graduated from the Thracian University in Stara Sagora specializing in veterinary medicine and holds the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (a professional doctorate that is awarded upon completion of his studies and, in Germany, corresponds to the completion of the state examination). During his studies Najdenow was secretary of the Dimitrovsky Komsomol of the Bulgarian Communist Party . After graduating, he worked as an official veterinarian in his hometown.

From 2002 to 2004 Najdenov was the director of the Veterinary Office of the Wraza District . In 2005 and 2006 he was Supreme Secretary (Bulgarian главен секретар) of the State Veterinary Office based in Sofia. He was fired in 2006 following a scandal involving the import of contaminated beef from Ireland. In the same year he took up his job at the public company Ekorawnowesie (Bulgarian Екоравновесие) and soon became its managing director. During this time he was appointed to the GERB party's council of experts and prepared the party's program for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In the parliamentary elections in 2009 , Najdenow from the constituency of Wraza was elected as a member of the Bulgarian parliament . The GERB party won the elections. In Boyko Borisov's cabinet , Najdenov held the post of Minister for Agriculture and Food from July 27, 2009 until the end of his reign in spring 2013.

In August 2013 he was one of the founding members of the new Bulgarian party BASTA.

Trivia

Miroslaw Najdenow is married and has two children. It speaks French, English and Russian. Najdenow is also a fan of FC Botew Wraza .
