According to the 2011 census, the Wraza Oblast only had 186,848 inhabitants compared to 243,036 in 2001. This corresponds to a population decline of 23 percent within ten years. This makes the Wraza Oblast the one with the greatest decline in all of Bulgaria. In 2017 the population was estimated at 165,645.
