Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat
Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat ( Chinese 米 儿 咱 ・ 马 黑 麻 ・ 海 答 儿 , Persian ميرزا محمد حيدر دوغلات, Russian Мирза Мухаммад Хайдар Дуглат , Kazakh Мұхаммед Хайдар Дулати ; * 1499 or 1500; † 1551 ) was a Tschagatai-Turkish-Mongolian military and historian. He was a Turkish- Dughlat -Prinz and wrote on Chagatai and Persian.
Life
He was a cousin of Prince Zahir, later Babur (1482-1530), the founder of the Mughal Empire in India .
At first he was in the service of the Mughal or Chagatai ruler Sultan Said Khan , the founder of the Yarkant Khanate . Under the leadership of Sultan Said Khan, he began a raid against Ladakh , Baltistan , Kashmir and Tibet in 1531 , which he only ended in 1535. In 1533 he came to Kashmir and settled a few things on behalf of the sultan.
In 1540 he served the Mughal ruler Humayun . He was killed in a battle against the Kashmiris in 1550.
Works
His main work is the Tarikh-i-Rashidi (تاريخ رشيدى) written in Persian , personal memories with a history of the Mughal rulers of Central Asia and their khans . * Tarikh-i-Rashidi An English translation by E. Denison Ross was annotated by Ney Elias and published in 1895. A Chinese translation by the Nationality Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Social Sciences was published in Ürümqi by the Xinjiang People's Publishing House (1983, 2 volumes).
