Miss Baek is a 2018 South Korean film that stars Han Ji-min . It is the first film by director Lee Ji-won and deals with the subject of child abuse .

action

Baek Sang-ah was ill-treated by her mother as a child and was sentenced to prison for attempted murder of her rapist. Years later, she struggled through jobs as a masseuse and car washwoman. When she learns of her mother's death, she accepts it almost indifferently and just wants to see that she is really dead. She is mentally scarred by her abuse and has a criminal record attached to her. Her boyfriend is a cop and supports, but she doesn't see herself as a future wife or mother.

One day she saw a small, frightened girl named Ji-eun on the street, who looked emaciated and had bruises and wounds on her body. She's buying her food. But then Ju Mi-gyeong comes by, Miss Baek, a customer of Miss Baek in the massage parlor. She tells her that Ji-eun is her friend's daughter and she will take her back with her. But shortly afterwards Ji-eun hits up again at Miss Baek's. She initially takes care of her, but increasingly senses that she cannot be a mother and brings her back. But her father Il-gon kicks her as soon as he opens the door. There is an argument that ends at the police station. The police officers don't believe the convicted Baek and the girl doesn't say anything either. The youth welfare office would stop by, but only in a few days.

Ji-eun is imprisoned, handcuffed and abused by Mi-gyeong and Il-gon. But you manage to free yourself and flee. Miss Baek finds her again and wants to escape with her. But Jang-seob finds them and puts them both with his mother. However, Mi-gyeong and Il-gon fear they will go to jail if everything is exposed. So they look for Ji-eun and can track her down. Meanwhile, Jang-seob can find evidence against them. But Mi-gyeong finds Ji-eun and wants to take her with him. Miss Baek comes just in time and faces her. Finally, Jang-seob joins them.

Mi-gyeong and Il-gon are both sentenced. Ji-eun lives with a family. Miss Baek visits her a year later.
