Mission Control Center
When Mission Control Center ( MCC ; German Mission Control ) air traffic control centers that are manned and unmanned space designated.
The main task of a Mission Control Center is to exchange telemetry data with the respective spacecraft and to maintain audiovisual communication with the crew from take-off through the entire course of the mission to landing.
Several space agencies around the world maintain such control centers:
- Strategic Combat Support Force of the People's Republic of China - Xi'an Satellite Control Center (military and civil satellites) and Beijing Space Control Center (manned flights and deep space probes)
- CSA ( Canada ) - John H. Chapman Space Center in Longueuil
- DLR ( Germany ) - German Space Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen
- ESA ( Europe ) - European space flight control center in Darmstadt
- NASA ( USA ) - Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston
- Roscosmos ( Russia ) - control center in Korolev
ESA's European Space Control Center (ESOC) in Darmstadt
German Space Control Center (GSOC) of the DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen
