Wayward son is a German Industrial - Power - Music - project and the pseudonym of the musician Dennis Schnaithmann from Hannover .

Band history

Bad son was founded in 1993 in Hanover by Dennis Schnaithmann. The debut album Illness Future was released in 1997 by KAFUEsysteme. By 2020, 10 albums, 5 sampler contributions and one remix each for KiEw and Xotox have been published. Live performances took place in 2005 and 2006 as part of the Stahlklang Festival in Hamburg and in 2007 as part of the Secret Garden Festival in Hanover. During this gig the official video for the album Maximum Hate was shown.

Style and synthesizer

Failed Son's music is purely electronic. Hard beats, noise attacks and simple melodies should create a threatening, gloomy atmosphere. The lyrics are often full of hopelessness, anger, sadness and death. The machine park is mainly dominated by the Roland JP-8000 and JD-800 synthesizers . The Yamaha SY-77, Waldorf Microwave and various Roland MCs used in earlier recordings have been replaced by soft synthesizers over time . These, in turn, are mainly used to simulate the Waldorf PPG and Korg MS-20 .
