The Mittaghorn ( 3,015 m above sea level ) is a mountain in the Gotthard massif in the Monte Leone-Sankt Gotthard Alps , part of the Lepontine Alps according to SOIUSA . It is located in Switzerland north of the Nufenen Pass in the canton of Valais , west of the Pizzo Gallina and the border to the canton of Ticino that runs over its summit .
