The Mittelland route is the national cycle route 5 in Switzerland . It begins in Romanshorn , runs through Winterthur , Zurich , Aarau , Solothurn and Biel to Lausanne .
The national cycle route 5 has a length of 370 km of which 85 km are unpaved. In both directions, 1600 meters of altitude have to be overcome. It is of Cycling in Switzerland and classified both as a condition for the request as easily.
Like the other national cycle routes in Switzerland, the route is marked with red signs.
Connecting routes
In Romanshorn connection to the Rhine route ; The Aare route runs parallel from Brugg to Biel ; in Aarau connection to the north-south route ; in Lausanne on the Rhone route .
